    Argentina is usurping the name of Falkland Islands born Louis Charles Baillon, as the first “Argentine Malvinas” Islander to win a gold medal in the London 1908 Summer Olympics, 'mistakenly' playing for the wrong side, the English field hockey national team. Such are the reports in some Buenos Aires media who insist in considering Louis Baillon an Argentine, born in the Falklands, (Fox Bay 1881) and who left the Islands forever in 1888 when he was seven years old.

    Venezuelan national Juan Vicente Pérez Mora passed away Tuesday due to respiratory complications at the age of 114 in San José de Bolívar, Francisco de Miranda municipality, in the state of Táchira. He was certified by the Guinness World Record on Feb. 4, 2022, as the oldest man on earth. He had been born in El Cobre, Táchira State, on May 27, 1909.

    Argentine woman arrested after taking her dog to be slaughtered

    A 55-year-old woman in the Argentine city of La Plata, capital of the Province of Buenos Aires, was arrested after showing up at her Villa Elvira neighborhood nearest butchers' to have her Golden Retriever pet dog slaughtered, it was reported Sunday. Store workers alerted the police and the animal was left in the care of a shelter. According to local media, the potential client also asked how much the service would cost her.
